Important Information

How to use Faroxy®_ER?

  • Take your prescribed dose every 12 hours, at the same time every day. Do not take more than your prescribed dose.
  • Administer with or without food. Do not crush, break, chew, or dissolve the tablets.
  • For oral use only.
  • Do not use for fast pain relief or on an as needed basis.

What other drugs could affect Faroxy®_ER?

  • Concomitant use with mixed agonist/antagonist and partial agonist opioid analgesics.
  • Serotonergic and MAOIs drugs: concomitant use may cause serotonin syndrome.
  • CNS depressants: concomitant use may cause hypotension, respiratory depression, coma and death.

Is Faroxy®_ER safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

  • Faroxy®_ER is not commonly used in pregnancy, Prolonged use of Faroxy®_ER during pregnancy can cause withdrawal symptoms in your newborn baby that could be life‑threatening if not recognized and treated.
  • Faroxy®_ER is present in breast milk. breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Faroxy®_ER.

What to do if you miss a dose?

  • Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
  • If it’s close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
  • Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What to do if you overdose?

If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away.

Contraindications & Cautions

Who should not use Faroxy®_ER?

  • Patients who are hypersensitive (e.g., anaphylaxis, angioedema) to oxycodone or any component of the formulation.
  • Significant respiratory depression, acute or severe bronchial asthma.
  • Known or suspected paralytic ileus and gastrointestinal obstruction.

Who should use with caution?

  • Before you start taking Faroxy®_ER, be sure to tell your doctor if you have any of the following: Liver or kidney problems, severe hypotension, respiratory or pulmonary disorders such as asthma or shortness of breath, sleep apnea (stop breathing in Sleep), gastrointestinal problems such as obstruction or narrowing of the intestine, mental disorders and taking antidepressants, taking drugs.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.
  • You should not drink alcohol while using Faroxy®_ER, as this can lead to loss of consciousness or death.

Side Effects

What are some side effects of Faroxy®_ER?

The most common adverse effects are including: upset stomach or throwing up, constipation, dizziness, feeling sleepy, headache, trouble sleeping, feeling tired, itching, dry mouth, belly pain, diarrhea, not hungry.

Storage

How to store Faroxy®_ER?

  • Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F) and protect from moisture and light.
  • Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
